Hubs and Gaps

Hubs

Hubs are locations on the map that have a high density of connections. These areas, like the one pictured to the left, facilitate collaboration between different people and groups. Once we visualize hubs in the context of the larger asset map, we can start actively connecting to individuals and organizations that are not yet connected directly to the hub.

Gaps

Gaps are locations on the map where there should be a connection between two people working on similar topics, but, in reality, there are none.

A map has to be comprehensive in order to accurately identifiy gaps. Connecting gaps between groups working on similar projects has great potential to increase resilience in Vermont.
